SPECIFICATIONS: Corrosion copper plate

– Used to assess the ability of oil to corrosive to corrosive metals.

– The sulfur compounds in oil will cause corrosion of many different metals.

– Corrosion is defined as an oxidation on metal surfaces causing metal loss or accumulation of deposits.

– Hydraulic oil, aviation oil, metal cutting oil, especially transformer oil and cold air compressors must not cause copper corrosion.

Anti-corrosion:

– ASTM D 130: Corrosion of copper sheets.

– Apply to hydraulic oil, ship oil and transmission oil:

Immerse the clean copper plate in oil.
Condition: 3 hours at 100 degrees C (varies by manufacturer).
